DIY Simple Syrup Gifts

Happy Monday friends! I hope you are all having  a relaxing, cozy, and warm Christmas season so far. I don’t know about you, but between the cold temperatures, cloudy skies, Hallmark Christmas movies, and the twinkly lights on my tree, I do not want to get off my couch, and much less do I want to think about the list of to dos and present buying I have to complete in the next few weeks. However, there is one thing I have crossed off my checklist: DIY gifts for family, friends or coworkers! Every year I love to make a little something for the people that are important to me. I think DIY gifts mean so much. Everyone loves to receive something knowing it was made specifically with them in mind.

Today I’m sharing my DIY simple syrups with you. These are great because they can easily be made in large or small batches, depending on how many gifts you need to make. They are cost effective. They don’t require any crazy or hard to find ingredients. And they are super yummy! The brown sugar vanilla simple syrup is so amazing in a morning cup of coffee. It also makes a great addition to any hot or iced tea, and is really delicious mixed with a little vodka, lemon, water and mint. The mint simple syrup is the perfect addition to a cup of hot cocoa or black tea, and it’s really great mixed with a dark liquor like bourbon or any type of rum. If you want to add a little extra to these DIY simple syrup gifts, you could gift them with a bag of tea, coffee, or hot cocoa and a little mug. Or for your crazier friends, it would be cute to gift with these with a festive cocktail glass and mini shooters or a pretty cocktail shaker.

Below you can find the recipes for both the brown sugar vanilla syrup and the mint syrup. To package the syrups I found these mini glass jars with a screw top at Michael’s for $1.69 each, and I found the two gift tags in the dollar bin at Target. If you haven’t looked there for gift tags before, I highly recommend you do! You will not be disappointed. I was able to fill four mini glass jars using the recipes below. Tag me on Instagram or Facebook if you make this DIY gift for your loved ones. I would love to see! I also have linked a few other DIY gift ideas that inspired me below.
